Devices suitable for binding

Binding is a logical connection between two devices. For example, an illuminating device can turn on/off the luminaries with which it is bound, depending on the level of illumination.

This section is accessible only from the Houseper application. It contains a list of devices suitable for binding with the current device..

  1. Device
  2. Binding status
  3. Binding functionality
  4. Bind button - connects devices over the relevant functionality
  5. Unbind button - removes binding between devices over the relevant functionality

"Devices suitable for binding" section is not displayed when there are no suitable devices.

Device configuration

Device configuration can contains:

  • Hidden – The devices marked as hidden will not be displayed in the list of devices on the first page of the Devices tab when there is an active filter. For example, a light switch that is bound with a lighting unit and has no other functionality. It serves to manage the luminaries with which it is bound, but it does not give us any additional information and can not be controlled. So its presence in the list of devices is totally useless and you can configure it as "hidden". Hidden Device Configuration is designed for convenience and can be changed at any time.
  • Sleeping device – The devices that are not permanently connected to the network. They communicate with the controller at a certain time to perform their predefined tasks (measurement, reporting, etc.) and/or in case of force majeure (to report them). When "sleep" they are inaccessible and even leave the Zigbee network temporarily. The ability of the devices to "sleep" saves their batteries for a very long period of time. The longer the device sleeps, the slower the battery is consumed. Some devices are waking up so often that their sleeping times are unnoticeable and can be accessed almost all the time. They are usually equipped with larger capacity batteries. In this case, the "Sleeping device" check can be removed, which will make the Refresh buttons to be visible in the Functionality section.
  • Configure alarm notifications – The devices inherit this configuration from the configured alarm notifications in the Settings tab. If desired, this configuration can also be changed at device level. So the user decides on what and how to be notified for each device.
  • Remove device – Removing a logical device leads to the removal of the entire physical device. For example, if you have a physical temperature and humidity measuring device that contains two logical devices - one for temperature measurement and another for humidity measurement, then the removal of one of the two logical devices will remove the both of them.
