IP Cameras
When it comes to security, we can't bypass CCTV cameras. Once added to the Houseper system, you will be able to manage them like any other device. Depending on its capabilities the camera can generate an alarm on motion/sound detection and optionally makes video/images. It can store records on a remote server. So, you can rest assured that even if the camera is stolen, the evidence of what happened will remain. Moreover the cameras that are compatible with the Houseper system make a "pre-recording". This means that the recorded videos will start with the history of the event itself, ie. before there was an alarm (motion / sound).
When the space allocated to you on the remote server begins to running out, you will receive a notification on your smartphone. If no free space left, Houseper will clear old videos and photos to free space for the new.
The camera has two states - active and inactive. Deactivate the camera and it will not generate alarms and will not record. When an active camera detects a motion or sound it will be indicated in the Houseper application with the icon. Other possible camera alarms that you can see in the Houseper app are:
- tamper when someone outside the Houseper system tries to reconfigure the camera.
- trouble with camera connectivity
Just like any other security device, cameras alarms can be send as notifications to smartphones, emails and even trigger a Siren device. They can be added into the Zones and controlled together with other devices, either through the Houseper app or via the Remote Control.
With the Houseper app, you can watch in real time what a camera "see". You can monitor 4 cameras at a time. Depending on the capabilities of the camera, you will be able to change viewing angle and zooming. You can view the records and download them locally. To do this, you will need to allow the Houseper application to access your file storage.
The Houseper system currently supports Foscam cameras. All new models with RTSP and H.264 should be supported. Cameras tested with Houseper system can be found in this section.
