What is a Houseper controller?
From one side it is a standard Android TV box, from other it has an integrated 4G LTE modem, from third it has built-in Zigbee module and last but not least high capacity lithium-ion battery. And here comes the basic question: "How to ... "Let's look at each of these.
Android TV Box
It is optimized for a multimedia PC with Android 7.1 operating system. It can be connected to monitor or turn an ordinary TV into Android TV. The possibility of using a huge number of free apps is not to be underestimated, also. It can stream your favorite android applications to a large screen. You can take advantage of built-in Kodi media player capabilities and turn the box into a multimedia center with free access to your favorite TV channels and movies.
Zigbee module
Build-in Zigbee Module transforms the box into a home automation center. All smart devices join the Zigbee network and communicate wirelessly. There is no needs for cables and home repairs. Devices are mounted quickly and easily - some of them plug directly into the socket, others simply stick with a strong double-sided tape. Another very specific feature of Zigbee devices is that they have a very low power consumption. This depends on the type of the device of course, but sometimes the batteries can last for years.
Houseper application provides all the tools needed to build a smart home, and with Houseper mobile application remote connection to the home is guaranteed.
4G LTE
The SIM card slot is located beneath the bottom cover on the side of the battery. There are already many mobile offers available on the market, so everyone can choose the best for themselves.
The mobile Internet can be used as a primary or backup depending of the personal needs. It can run a shared mobile connection (Hotspot) which turns the controller into WiFi router. The configured Hotspot can be started automatically after a restart.
How to choose the right Houseper controller?
The controller is available in two variants - with and without 4 G LTE module. Select a controller with 4G LTE in the case of:
- You want to have a web connection in place where there is no ISP, but there is good mobile coverage. In this case, the controller can be at the same time a computer, a television receiver, a home automation center, and even WiFi router.
- You have an ISP, but you want to make sure that in case of Internet connection problems, the mobile internet will turn on and you will not be left without the internet.
If you do not plan to use mobile internet, then select the base controller model to browse the internet, watch free TV, use Android apps, have WiFi router if you are using LAN and of course the most important - you have your home automation.
Battery
The controller is equipped with a lithium-ion battery which can backup up the power up to 12 hour, depending on the load. So you can be sure that you will not lose the connection with your smart home. If we imagine that the power failure may be caused by a short circuit with a subsequent fire, we can understand why it is important that the controller should work continuously and receive a fire notification in time.
What's in the box?
Of course there are Houseper controller, an adapter for power supply, HDMI cable, and an air mouse.
No, no ... it is not what is shown on the picture. The air mouse is a wireless remote control that controls the cursor on the screen. You can click and amplify and decrease the volume. You have back, home and menu buttons. This is on one side, and when you rotate it on the other side you have a keyboard - so you can write comfortably lying on the couch.
